2007 Candidate Class

Congratulations to the following candidates who attended all four sessions of the NY Metro ISOA candidate course and passed the NISOA Qualifying Exam:

William Binnie, Steve Cameron, Dimitrie Draguca, Diane Holtsford, Peter Shank, Patricia Thelwell, Andrew Ashmall-Liversidge, and Bob Hirt.

The candidates will qualify for chapter membership upon successfully passing the NISOA Physical Fitness test.

Fordham University Spring Soccer Games

Fordham University’s men’s soccer team is playing three home games on the following dates:

  • Friday, March 30 at 7:00 PM.
  • Friday, April 20 at 7:00 PM.
  • Saturday, April 28 at 10:00 AM.

Officials are needed but fees are limited. If you are available, please leave a comment in this post. We will get back to you with additional details.

Memorial for Gus Constantine

Gus ConstantineMichael Constantine has organized a memorial for his father, Gus Constantine. The memorial will be at the Holy Trinity Church in New Rochelle, NY on Sunday, May 6, 2007. A reception will be held at the Church at 12:30 with a memorial from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.

Gus was a member of the NISOA National Hall of Fame, a dear friend and mentor to many of us in the New York Metro chapter. Michael has extended an invitation to the chapter and the NISOA family to celebrate and remember Gus’ life and accomplishments.

Annual Clinic; Building and Room Change

Thanks to the wonderful staff at C.W. Post University, we will present the annual rules interpretation clinic in Humanities Hall, Room 119 at C.W. Post University on August 25, 2007 at 8:30 AM.

This room is a modern lecture hall with better audio/visual support and comfort.

USMMA Spring Tournament; Referees Needed

Date Change due to a schedule conflict at Kings Point!! The US Merchant Marine Academy needs referees for their annual men’s soccer spring 6 v 6 tournament. The tournament runs from 9 AM until approximately 4 PM on Saturday, April 21. Get more information on the message board.

New NISOA Uniform Badge

New NISOA Referee BadgeThe NISOA Executive Council has approved a new referee badge (or patch, if you prefer). This badge is to be worn by all officials (except for NISOA National Referees) for all intercollegiate competitions unless otherwise specified by the governing sports authority, effective immediately. NISOA is distributing the badges by mail. We plan on ordering additional badges for member purchase before the annual rules interpretation meeting.
