Fitness Test Comments and Clarifications

Our chapter’s initial fitness test for 2017 occurred on June 14, 2017 at Kellenberg H.S. in Uniondale, NY. Aside from a couple of minor technical problems with the timing gates on the sprint portion of the test, I was extremely pleased with the test experience. I was especially pleased with the obvious commitment by the members to physically prepare and train for the new test. The results were overwhelmingly positive for a test which is more challenging (in my opinion) than our prior NISOA fitness test. Great job by everyone who prepared and took this test seriously. 2017 NISOA Soccer Rules Refresher Test

New NISOA Physical Performance Test for 2017

Please be aware that NISOA has changed the physical performance (fitness) test for all new and renewing members (including National Referees) effective immediately. The new test will be identical to the US Soccer Grade 6 physical performance test. Read the rest of this entry »

Brian Dunn

Brian Dunn

Congratulations to Brian Dunn on his assignment as assistant referee in last night’s 2016 NCAA Men’s College Cup semifinal game between Stanford and North Carolina. Brian has also been selected for the Men’s College Cup final on December 11, 2016!

Brian has an an outstanding couple of years in MLS (2015 MLS All Star Game), USL (2016 Cup Final) and intercollegiate soccer.

We are very proud of Brian’s accomplishments. He is an excellent representative of our chapter.

2016 Chapter and Sportsmanship Awards
