The New York Metro Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NYMISOA) was founded 43 years ago in 1964. The chapter membership includes 90 intercollegiate soccer officials in the New York City boroughs of Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island plus Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties.
Of the 50 men’s college soccer programs in the New York City metro area, Rocco Morelli of SUNY-Maritime received the NYMISOA Sportsmanship Award in the vote of referees for displaying the highest degree of Fair Play during the 2007 college season. Read the rest of this article »

The responsibility for managing and administering collegiate soccer games is shared between the match officials and the conference administration. As soccer referees, we are primarily responsible for the events immediately before, during and immediately after a match. We are required to file reports when unusual incidents occur during the time we have jurisdiction. Conference administration use the reports to make sure everyone adheres to the NCAA’s sportsmanship ideals. Conference administrators take this responsibility very seriously. While the 2007 season is coming to a close, we are continuing the new candidate recruiting process. If you are an experienced soccer referee in the New York City metropolitan area and want to officiate intercollegiate soccer, you should visit our web site as soon as possible to begin the process of joining our chapter for the 2008 season.
If you have not provided input for the 2007 NY Metro ISOA Sportsmanship Awards or RSVP’ed for the Annual Awards Dinner, you can still do so. You will need your ‘token’ from the email sent separately to you.
ECAC has informed us they will prepare checks for the initial Official Payment System (OPS) payment for the 2007 season on Monday, October 22, 2007. Payment will be for matches played before October 22, 2007. Please review the documentation accompanying the payment for discrepancies with your records. There are several schools in our area that did not fund ECAC so you will not be paid for the games they hosted in this payment cycle.
Take a few minutes to review the financial information on your ECAC assignment web page. Try to resolve financial issues with the assignor and ensure the ECAC web site is updated as soon as possible.
