Memorial for Gus Constantine

Gus ConstantineMichael Constantine has organized a memorial for his father, Gus Constantine. The memorial will be at the Holy Trinity Church in New Rochelle, NY on Sunday, May 6, 2007. A reception will be held at the Church at 12:30 with a memorial from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.

Gus was a member of the NISOA National Hall of Fame, a dear friend and mentor to many of us in the New York Metro chapter. Michael has extended an invitation to the chapter and the NISOA family to celebrate and remember Gus’ life and accomplishments.

The experience Gus Constantine’s team gave me at NYU was; I now have friends who are like family to me.
And they will be my friends forever. They are like brothers to me.

It’s just a circle Coach Constantine created that was taken for granted, or indeed misunderstood. It’s only now, years later, do we realize that we have succeeded in life in making real friends where football was the foundation of such relationships, and Gus Constantine was the coach that gave us that.

    Thanks Coach Constantine.

Gus was a friend a good teacher. I for one, learned a lot during his lectures back in the 1970s in the NYRA.
It is unfortuante he left us so early.

    God bless you Gus,

    Laszlo
